Follow The Signs

 This year I have taken it upon myself to read the bible from start to finish. I was raised in a predominately Christian setting as my father was a devout Methodist. My mother, on the other hand, is Jewish and brought to my upbringing many cultural traditions and historic information as well. I myself was open to both learnings and embraced the beauty of faith and creation. In my thirties I became fascinated with the teachings of the Buddha. Once again being open to the possibilities of people having different faiths and practices and not being wrong or right. One thing that allowed this freedom in thought was when my father once told me, "How can I judge people who's religion was around thousands of years before mine?" I'll always love and admire him for that even though there was no doubt who his savior was. Circling back to my journey of the bible, it's almost like a journey in finding my faith. I talk a lot about manifesting and following the signs. Just recently an amazing project came across my desk. Written and Directed by my long time friend Lazrael Lison, the timing couldn't be better. The film is called, 'Finding Faith'. I believe this is a sign and I'm going all in.

Who Is Choosing You?

I remember when I was told by my father that I would be lucky if I had five true friends in life. I was young. Twelve or thirteen, I was just old enough to think I knew it all but fortunately smart enough to listen and store the information. I trusted him and though the number of friends has exceeded his experience, I understand the sentiments. My dad went straight into the armed services at 18 where I took a more fluid and exotic path. One minute here and the next I'm there and thus I met more people who were attractive in mindset, character and of course, at times, physique. Over the years I've become quite the collector of great friends but ever more importantly those friends CHOSE ME. I have worked on myself since I can remember. Always checking in and trying to be a better person than I was the day before and thus making myself a more attractive candidate for friendship. The Art In Sharing

 Remember the phrase, sharing is caring. Juvenile? How many of us have gone through something so traumatic that only those who have had similar events take place could console our sadness, fear and or pain? I know I have and in my time of need, I turn to books written, pod cast, works or art in any form to not only console me but to show proof that there is a way. A way to heal and to get stronger once again. A way to thrive and not just survive. We share our journey because others can learn and benefit from it. Thus sharing is caring. I was diagnosed with Stage IV Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2010. Since then I've undergone extensive treatment including experimental treatments. Some of those treatments are now FDA approved.
